Ebay and Designer Bags

I have seen some good deals on designer bags at eBay but I'm afraid to purchase designer items from eBay. I visits the community board on eBay and I always hear people saying to not purchase designer bags from eBay because they are fake. Do you think eBay is a trustworthy place to buy handbags and have you bought a designer handbag from eBay?

You have to do a lot of research and/or ask people at forums, like this one (or when we get bigger) or eBay's own purse forum, or "The Purse Forum".

There are authentics too! But you cannot shop blindly.

Yes, I don't make purchases blindly. I usually purchase from someone that has sold alot of the same types of items and have good feedback.

That won't do it with handbags, designer or not, or with anything that can be copied. Even swords (seemingly random example).

You have to study the actual bags. I'm putting this forum together to help!

I think you should think twice about your investment when buying a bag from eBay. Hey, don't get me wrong I have bought a couple of designer items from eBay. I definitely would not buy a LV from eBay. I have a certain seller that I use when I'm looking for bags on eBay. Also, I have gotten ripped off before on eBay but I can only blame myself. What's the old saying? "If it sounds too good to be true, then it must be too good to be true." I have a couple of things that I take in consideration when shopping for handbags or designer items.

1. When shopping on eBay for bags, Always assume the bags on the page are fake.
2. Another thing, the seller don't always show the actual bag on the page. Meaning, the seller uses a stock page or reuses other seller pages. I am kind of cautious of people that reuse other seller pictures or the ones that don't use actual pictures of the handbag on the listing.

Thanks for the tips guys! I decided I will just go ahead and spend the extra money and instead of risking a chance of being ripped off. I was on eBay over the weekend because I was looking for some designer jeans. I didn't see to many deals or that many choices. I decided I will just spend the extra money and get something from the mall or the website. I will make a purchase if I get some recommendations.

I am afraid of designer jeans on eBay in general. When it comes time for me to get the Antiks I want, I'll go to a boutique.

Yeah, I am afraid to buy designer jeans off of eBay, too. Besides, eBay don't have much of a selection for petites in designer jeans. If you like used clothing they seem to have a big selection of used designer jeans.

Wow, even the used clothing are fakes, too! I didn't think that people would try that with clothes that are used. I figure people are only going to pay so much for used clothing so why fake it?
